The winners of the OGP journalism contest are known

On May 14, the results of the contest of journalistic materials related to Open Government Partnership initiative were summed up. The evaluation committee selected the authors of the best three from the 20 submitted materials.

The journalistic contest was organized by the Freedom of Information Center of Armenia within the framework of the project “Supporting Co-Creation Process of the 5th OGP Action Plan”. In total, the organizers received 21 applications, one of which was disregarded due to non-compliance with the set criteria.

The Jury members evaluated the submitted materials according to the following criteria․

  • Relevance of materials to the thematic context of OGP. To what extent the journalistic work reflects the scope of the topic of Open Government Partnership ? – 15 points
  • Potential in the OGP awareness process. To what extent the content-structural components of journalistic work reveal the topic, explain / present it from the citizen’s point of view, how effective is it in the context of the OGP awareness process – 20 points
    • The logic and clarity of the material. How logical and clear is the presented content? – 10 points
    • Journalistic integrity. To what extent the author adheres to the principles of journalistic ethics?  – 15 points

Taking into account the above mentioned criteria and evaluating applications, the Jury decided to award the prizes to the following winners:

1st prize – 287 points
Ms. Grigor Harutyunyan for the material “Transparent and Accountable Work in the Executive”.

2nd prize -283 points
Ms. Nara Yepremyan for the material “Open Government Partnership -Armenia initiative is waiting for proposals from the public “.

3rd prize – 271 points
Ms. Ani Grigoryan for the material “Mistakes in procurement systems” hide “contracts”

Winners received monetory awards.
