61. FOICA vs. “Civil Contract” Party

On December 4, 2023, the Freedom of Information Center of Armenia (FOICA) initiated legal proceedings by filing a lawsuit to compel the "Civil Contract" party to disclose information.

59. Media Defence vs. Republic of Azerbaijan

Media Defence has today filed a case at the Strasbourg court on behalf of four Armenian citizens following the bombing of the town of Martuni by Azerbaijani forces during the recent armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. The applicants - three journalists who were injured and the brother of a journalist fixer who was killed - allege that as a result of this attack their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights were violated by Azerbaijan.

14. FOICA vs. Bjni Village Mayor and the Village Municipality

June 18, 2009

The FOICA had referred to the community leader of Bjni in the region of Armavir asking to providae the following information:
1. Copies of the 2008 community budget and its implementation report.
2. Copies of the decisions made by the community councilors about allotting land in the 2nd semester of 2008.

The request was left unanswered. On the 19th of March, 2009 the FOICA applied to the RA Administrative Court with a claim to oblige the village municipality of Bjni to provide the requested information. On the 11 of June, 2009, the case of the FOICA vs. the village municipality of Bjni was heard.

Since the mayor’s office of Bjni had provided the requested information before the court hearing, the FOICA renounced the claim in the court.
