The Freedom of Information Center and the Caucasus Institute prepared and published “The 2013 Yerevan Municipal Election Campaign in Online Media Coverage” Monitoring Report.
In 2013 the Freedom of Information Center and the Caucasus Institute by the support of Counterpart International’s Armenia Representation and the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) conducted a monitoring of the coverage of the 2013 Yerevan municipal election campaign in on-line media. The monitoring included the period from 7 April and up to 3 May 2013, i.e. the whole duration of the campaign. On April 8, 2013, a press conference took place in the Caucasus Institute, at which the experts of the monitoring presented the final results of the monitoring, and then a comprehensive monitoring report was prepared and published.
The goals, methodology of the monitoring are presented in the report, as well there is information about the election campaign and the political parties. The monitoring report includes 4 main sections.
- Attitudes – this section presents the attitudes expressed by political parties, candidates, journalists etc. about the political parties involved in the election campaign.
- Values – this section presents information on the values that the parties described as important.
- The Media – this section presents information on the specifics of the media coverage of the election.
- Recommendations – in this section the experts of the monitoring presented their recommendations addressed both to the political parties and to the news media.
