The Freedom of Information Center is launching a project to strengthen and support the professional capacities of media representatives from Artsakh.

The project is focused on meeting the urgent requirements of media professionals and journalists affected by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The main objective of the project is to empower the professional skills and capabilities of media representatives from Artsakh, who were forcibly displaced due to the Nagorno-Karabakh war in 2023. The project aims to provide comprehensive capacity-building support to help them resettle in Armenia and enhance their professional capacities ensuring their competitiveness.

The project consists of 2 stages:

1. Capacity-building training sessions in key areas:

– Freedom of information and protection of personal data.

– Fact-checking. development of skills to check the accuracy of information, identify fake news,

– Open data analysis and use of open sources.

2. Mentorship and networking. During the mentorship, journalists will have the opportunity to refine their professional skills in creating journalistic content with the guidance of experts. The monetary compensation will be provided to each material.

The project is supported by The Reporters without Borders. The project starts on 15 November 2023 and will end on 29 February 2024.
