On 28th of September, 2011, on the international day of freedom of information, annual award ceremony “Golden key and Rusty lock” organized by the Freedom of Information Center took place.
For working well and transparently, RA Ministry of Education and Science got a Golden Key as a governmental body which best applied the RA law on “Freedom of Information”. The official website of RA Ministry of Justice-www.moj.am- got an award as the best official website providing information. The Municipality of Kotayq region got Golden Key as the best official initiative in providing information.
“Victims of State Needs” NGO got an award for best usage of the right of getting information.
www.hra.am and www.PanArmenian.net websites got Golden Keys for best coverage of issues connected with freedom of information. For the same nomination Arman Gharibyan, the journalist of Lragir online newspaper, got another award.
Rusty Keys were awarded to RA State Revenue Committee and “Hamalsarakanner” Condominium for delivering the queerest official responses.
On the occasion of 10th anniversary of the Freedom of Information Center, 10 awards were given to organizations who had important contribution in developing freedom of information in Armenia during these 10 years.
The center carries out the award ceremony “Golden Keys and Rusty Locks” for 9 years already. It is devoted to the International day of freedom of information. This year besides award ceremony other activities have also been carried out aimed at making the RA Law on Freedom of Information more applicable.
