During 2008 the Freedom of Information Center plans to sue those officials who will violate people’s right of access to information. Those officials will be subject to criminal and administrative liability.
If any state or local government official has denied to provide you information, you may apply to Freedom of Information Centre. Starting from June 2008 FOICA implements court protection of the right of access to information in case it has been illegaly violated. This direction is implemented in the framework of “Access to Information for Community Involvement” project funded by USAID Armenia. This year 10 court cases in Yerevan and regions are anticiupated.
